Key takeaways are as follows:
Geography: deal activity continues to be weighted towards the South East, however the West Midlands and North West also remain very active.
Nursery Sizes: almost 40% of transactions related to nurseries with 50-75 places.
Groups vs Individual Nurseries: whilst individual nursery sales still account for the majority of transactions, there is growing demand for the acquisition of small groups. Group acquisitions accounted for 34% of transactions in the 12 months to 31 August.
Ofsted ratings: corporate acquirers remain almost exclusively focused on settings with "Good" or "Outstanding" ratings.
